GEE model (1.4) was, therefore, used to assess HPV type-specific differences in the effects of host immune status. HPV16 was the referent HPV type, and the ratio of the type-specific ORs was estimated. As shown in Table 1, each of the other oncogenic HPV types had stronger associations with host immune status than did HPV16. For example, the OR for HPV31 was 2.62 fold greater (95% CI,1.02–6.71)) and the OR for HPV45 was 3.49 fold greater (95% CI,1.39–8.80) than the OR for HPV16.
