Finally, we explored the influence of LINC00665 downregulation in glioma by examining its influence on microtubule-localized protein G2 and S-phase expressed 1 (GTSE1), which is expressed in the S and G2 phases of the cell cycle and is thus directly associated with carcinogenesis. Indeed, GTSE1 expression is upregulated in acral melanoma and gastric cancer.27,28 When facing DNA damage, GTSE1 accumulates and binds to p53, inhibiting its ability to induce apoptosis, suggesting its involvement in the p53 signaling pathway.29
