Text

The Tension subscale of the POMS was examined as a post-hoc comparison for the effects of severity on the negative reinforcing properties of alcohol (i.e., tension-reduction). Results revealed a trend-level Alcohol × Severity interaction (β = 0.08, SE = 0.04, t = 1.92, p = .055) such that individuals at higher levels of severity reported greater alcohol-induced tension reduction.
