On the other hand, GABAergic inhibition significantly reduced the percentage of active neurons (p = 0.0015), but the decrease was only significant at week 3 (p < 0.01). Synchronicity was unaffected (p = NS). Addition of picrotoxin also affected the bursting frequency (overall p = 0.0302) and the bursting amplitude (overall p = 0.0125) with a significant increase at week 5 (p < 0.05) (Fig. 5c). Representative traces are shown in Fig. 5d.
