The h2 estimate for the nicotine dependence diagnosis was significantly greater than 0 (p<.001), as were the h2 estimates for 13 of the 14 nicotine dependence symptoms (p<.05). The remaining symptom, ‘Continued smoking despite physical illness,’ approached significance (p = .08).
