services fits with prior evidence demonstrating poor economic outcomes for those with early-onset and persistent conduct problems (Colman et al., 2009; Moffitt et al., 2002). While it is not surprising that those on the LCP pathway account for more than their share of criminal justice and social welfare services in adulthood, the magnitude of the burden is striking: LCP study members were responsible for over 50% of the entire cohort’s criminal convictions and nearly 25% of its benefit-months, despite only comprising 9% of the population.
