In total, 304 genetic variants in 12 loci surpassed the threshold for genome-wide significance (P<5×10−8; Figure 1, Table 1, Supplementary Figure 3). Results for the European ancestry meta-analysis were substantively similar (Supplementary Figure 4). No marker demonstrated significant heterogeneity between studies (Supplementary Figure 5 and 6) and no heterogeneity was observed between the Chinese and European ancestry cohorts (Supplementary Figure 2). Conditional analysis within each locus did not identify any independent secondary signals meeting genome-wide significance (Online Methods, Supplementary Table 2).
