Block 2 extended from the intron 2 SNP rs13130508 to the intergenic SNP rs1394344, a distance of 113.7 kb. There were 6 haplotypes with a frequency of ≥ 0.01 that accounted for 0.98 of the haplotype diversity. From Figure 3 it can be seen that haplotypes could be cladistically arranged into two groups: H1 – H3, that were more abundant in alcoholics (0.52 vs 0.43) and H4 – H6 that were more common in non-alcoholics (0.57 vs 0.48): (H1 – H3) vs (H4 – H6): χ2 = 8.1, 1 df, p = 0.0045.
