For the shaded categories, causality has been established by the earlier review [1]. For fire injuries and related conditions, while alcohol has been established as a component cause and its contribution has been quantitatively estimated in some countries based on insurance or police records (e.g., [28]), global estimates seem to be impossible. For natural disasters, while it may certainly be true that intoxicated people may be more vulnerable when disaster strikes, this effect has never been estimated, and therefore, natural disasters are not part of the current CRA. Similar reasoning was used for injuries due to animal bites.
