a risk factor for the development of AUD as it was found not only in individuals with AUD (Rangaswamy et al., 2002), but also in the young offspring of men with AUD (Rangaswamy et al., 2004). Investigations of the effects of AUD on EEG coherence, a measure of neural network synchronization, during resting state found increases in inter-hemispheric coherence in the theta band (6-7 Hz), indicating significant alterations in functional connectivity of cortico-cortical and thalamocortical networks from non-alcoholic controls (Porjesz & Rangaswamy, 2007).
